The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThis spatial dataset defines a mutually exclusive landscape classification for the Namoi preliminary assessment extent.\n\n\n\nThere are several 1000 assets in the Namoi preliminary assessment extent. These assets include individual populations of species and communities, compound assets such as landscape elements or national parks and culturally important places/areas and economic. Identifying efficient receptor locations for these requires a classification of landscape elements for which it is possible to develop a conceptual model of system understanding of the key ecological, cultural and economic elements. Each of these landscape classes will then contain one to several potential receptor locations, in a way that makes their placement efficient, complete and representative. With this approach it is possible to have receptors for single and compound assets and the use of the conceptual models will then enable the identification of receptor impact variables.\n\n\n\nPlease note that there are 2 feature classes in this dataset:\n\n\n\n1.\ta line feature class for the stream landscape classes (previously was a 1 m wide buffer polygon of this line work)\n\n2.\tan area feature class that includes the \n\na.\tall the area landscape class features (e.g. grassy woodlands), \n\nb.\tall the spring features as 1m wide polygons\n\nc.\ta subset of the (8) stream landscape class features (i.e. those originally mapped as a polygon rather than a line). Most of these are duplicates of line features in the other dataset. \n\nImportant note: while these are part of the landscape classes mapped in the line feature class we have applied a unique id and name to distinguish them. This is to enable smooth querying in IMIA and BA Explorer and for the production of both area and length summaries without double counting. This may be achieved by excluding them from area queries as they are already included by length in the line feature class. Ultimately these are included so that these stream areas can be available for some mapping purposes.\n\nThese have both a unique lc_id and lc_class name as follows:\n\ni.\tlc_id: the area based stream polygons have 1000 added to their lc_id; therefore lc_id 1 (Permanent upland stream GDE) has a lc_id of 1001\n\nii.\tlc_class name: the area based stream polygons have area added to the end of their names; therefore Permanent upland stream GDE has become Permanent upland stream GDE area\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nDetails on the spatial data and rule sets used to formulate the Landscape Classification can be found in the associated Bioregional Assessments product for the Namoi subregion 2.3.3.\n\n## **Dataset Citation** \n\nBioregional Assessment Programme (2017) Landscape classification of the Namoi preliminary assessment extent.
