In\naccordance with its objectives, the study has determined the nature and extent of flooding\nthrough the estimation of design flood flows, levels and velocities. Flood impacts due to\nstorm events in the Brisbane Water estuary are detailed in the Brisbane Water Foreshore\nFlood Study (2009).\nIn undertaking the flood study, a hydrologic-hydraulic computer model of the major\nchannels and floodplain within the catchment was established and verified against historical\nflood event observations. The hydraulic model was then used with design rainfall\nconditions to simulate design flood behaviour in the catchment. The study has defined\nProvisional Flood Hazard and Hydraulic Categories for the flood affected areas.\n\nThe objective of this Study is to define the nature of the existing flood behaviour due to\nlocal runoff only in the Davistown catchment.\n\nTo achieve the objectives, the following tasks were undertaken:\n<ul>\n<li>Collate available flood-related data,</li>\n<li>Define existing catchment condition flood behaviour for mainstream flooding in the\ncatchment,</li>\n<li>Define design flood levels, velocities and flow distributions for the catchment,</li>\n<li>Define the extent of flooding the nominated AEP events and PMF for the catchment,</li>\n<li>Define the hydraulic categories for the flood-affected areas,</li>\n<li>Define provisional flood hazard for the flood-affected areas,</li>\n<li>Assess flood damages for the flood-affected areas.</li>\n</ul>", "num_resources": 2, "num_tags": 4, "organization": {"id": "c3197e8b-da78-4b75-b9e9-ab8cb49e6d66", "name": "central-coast-council-datansw", "title": "Central Coast Council", "type": "organization", "description": "Central Coast Council is responsible for the sixth largest urban area in Australia.
