Created 01/08/2024

Updated 27/06/2025

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme supports eligible business to recruit workers for short-term jobs up to 9 months or longer-term roles for between one and 4 years in unskilled, low-skilled and semi-skilled positions.

The PALM scheme helps employers fill labour gaps in rural and regional Australia and nationally for agriculture and select agriculture-related food product manufacturing sectors.

PALM scheme data provides information on the workers and employers participating in the scheme. For workers, information is provided by country of origin, industry, whether workers are participating in the short-term or long-term streams, and the state or territory of the worker. For employers, information about the number and type of employers is available.
