2016 SoE Built Environment Small regions with significant urban parcel growth, by capital city.

Created 19/01/2017

Updated 09/08/2023

Cadastral parcel change over time was calculated via a spatial overlay between PSMA CADLite August 2011 and August 2014 parcel centroids and 2011 Mesh Blocks. CAD counts were then aggregated to SA1 level. CAD size categories were applied based on the definitions in the ABS publication Land Account: Victoria, Experimental Estimates, 2012 (cat. no. 4609.0.55.002). Change in Estimated Resident Population (ERP) was calculated from Statistical Area 1 (SA1) ERP counts. Map prepared by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in order to produce Figure BLT4 in the Built environment theme of the 2016 State of the Environment Report, available at http://www.soe.environment.gov.au.
