Resource as provided to Data.NSW.

A strong visitor economy underpins the state's prosperity by supporting a diverse and resilient economy that creates jobs and opportunities across NSW.

The NSW visitor economy has surpassed $50 billion in expenditure for the first time in history and is leading Australia's post-pandemic rebound. To continue to grow visitor expenditure, the Government will invest $XXm to make NSW the premier visitor economy in the Asia Pacific by 2030. This helps meet the Minn's Government's goal of $91 billion in the annual visitor economy expenditure by 2035, providing economic prosperity for regional communities and creating 150,000 new jobs by 2035.

NB. Data for international expenditure from 2020 to 2023 is statistically unreliable and recommended that disaggregated international visitor expenditure for that period should not be published, as a result the total has been provided.

Note: The Visitor Economy Expenditure includes expenditure from international, interstate and NSW residents when travelling within NSW.
