The project captures high-resolution aerial imagery and topographic survey data at regular intervals (currently three-yearly) and following major coastal events. The survey provides essential information to assess the current condition of coastal assets such as seawalls, groynes, and beaches, support planning, design, and maintenance activities, and provide a reference dataset for comparing historic and future coastal conditions. Contours are lines on a map that connect points of equal elevation above a specified datum (such as mean sea level). They represent the shape and slope of the terrain, with closely spaced lines indicating a steep slope and widely spaced lines indicating a gentle slope.
