This dataset is a Soil Profile Class survey of the Dalrymple Shire in the Burdekin, North Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Buchanan, Charters Towers, Clarke River, Einasleigh, Hughenden, Ingham and Townsville 1: 250,000 map sheets (SF55-2, SE55-13, SE55-9, SF55-1, SE55-10, SE55-14, SF55-6) and was completed in 1999. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 250,000 and 77 Soil Profile Classes were identified. A combination of remote sensing techniques using 1:100 000 scale satellite images and 1:80 000 scale black and white aerial photography were used to delineate the mapping units which were mapped onto six 1:250 000 maps.
