Status of Australian Fish Stocks 2016

This dataset contains information on the ‘Status of Australian Fish Stocks’: - 294 stock status assessments were undertaken across the 83 species/species complexes - Stocks comprised biological; jurisdictional and management unit with assessments undertaken at the biological stock level, wherever possible. - 232 stock status classifications could be assigned. The remaining stocks were classified as 49 undefined and 13 negligible stocks. - Of the 232 stock status classifications that could be assigned: o 175 stocks were assessed as being sustainable o 26 stocks transitional–depleting o 9 stocks transitional–recovering o 5 stocks environmentally limited o 17 stocks overfished.
