Specifically, the objective was to predict TSS levels based on the orbital velocity of waves and to identify periods where the measured TSS levels are higher than the modelled data predicts and which therefore may indicate turbidity caused by dredging or spoil disposal and which could represent periods of high sediment deposition. The information from the sediment deposition sensor can then be used to verify periods of high(er) sediment deposition..
