Regional Airborne Electromagnetics survey data (AusAEM) were used  to estimate the depth and thickness of the Carpentaria Basin where it overlies the Beetaloo GBA region. Models derived from AEM data represent thickness and extent of clay rich lithologies within the Carpentaria Basin sequence and overlying Cenozoic (when present) rather than the whole of the Carpentaria Basin.  Areas with clay rich lithologies would have tendency to impede recharge.
