The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.\n\n\n\nThis dataset consists of polygons showing the horizontal extent of the aquifers in the Victorian Aquifer Framework.\n\n## **Purpose** \n\nThe VAF extent polygons have been developed for use in the Gippsland Bioregional Assessment 1.1 product aquifer connectivity map.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nThe Victorian Aquifer Framework (VAF) extent polygons were developed at Geoscience Australia within ESRI ArcMap 10.2 by reclassifying the original VAF grids (GUID: 67f60c8e-a944-4932-8a48-47dd1d1625b5) into integer values (giving all cells a value of 1), then converting the resulting grids to polygons. The polygons have not been simplified.
