These overlays are to be used by local government in preparing the overlays for the code in their Local Provisions Schedules.\nThe Electricity Transmission Infrastructure Protection Code applies to land within the:\n\u00e2\u00a2  electricity transmission corridor overlay; \n\u00e2\u00a2  communications station buffer area overlay; or \n\u00e2\u00a2  substation facility buffer area overlay. \nThe electricity transmission corridor overlay covers land within:\n\u00e2\u00a2  a specified distance either side of existing overhead transmission lines;\n\u00e2\u00a2  a specified distance either side of existing underground cabling for electricity transmission; or\n\u00e2\u00a2  a specified distance from the edge of an easement established by unregistered wayleave agreement under the Electricity Wayleaves and Easements Act 2000 and regardless of whether containing existing infrastructure or not, whichever is the greater.\nThe substation facility buffer area overlay extends 65m from the substation facility area overlay.  The communications station buffer area overlay extends 55m from the centre of the tower of TasNetworks communications stations.\nThe code also includes two further overlays that assist with the interpretation of the exemptions and development standards.
