This dataset was derived from borehole data provided by the Northern Territory Department of Natural Resource Management. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived. 


Each groundwater works and associated licence is considered an element in the asset database. The element list was constructed from the NT Groundwater Licence Extract (as identified in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement).


The 'Class' of asset was added to the Groundwater licence extract which is an aggregate of the purpose field. All other fields remained as per the original dataset from NT.


This dataset has not been clipped to the PAE and includes all licences in NT.

## **Dataset History** 

The 'Class' field was added to the NT groundwater extract which is an aggregate of the purpose field.


Any purpose that was originally listed as "domestic" or "stock" only was classed as a basic water right.


Any purpose that was originally listed as an extractive use was classed as a water access right. This includes irrigation, mining, farming, etc.


Monitoring bores are classed as 'NA' as they do not contain an extractive purpose.
