                <gco:CharacterString>## **Abstract** 

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme from multiple source datasets. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.


NSW Office of Water provided two datasets that were combined to create the surfacewater licences in the Gloucester PAE. This included the spatial location of the offtakes and their linked licences (many to many relationship), and the water sharing plan regions. The aim of this resultant dataset was to provide a spatial location of all surface water licences in the Gloucester PAE along with their allocation/ entitlement/ share component.

## **Dataset History** 

Water resources Asset Data for Gloucester

This document describes the data sets and processes used to produce data sets for the Surface Water and Groundwater in the BA Gloucester sub region.


1.    A set of data base query tables from the NSW Office of Water were provided. These were in 2 classes, groundwater (GW) and surface water (SW). These data tables had similar column headings.

2.    The tables for Ground water and Surface water, respectively, were combined into their single data table each.

3.    Also provided from NSW Office of Water were two shape files with NSW Groundwater and Surface Water points and accompanying data in Arc attribute tables.

4.    Based on the many to many relationship between the licence data in the data base query tables and the shape files, these have remained as separate tables.

5.     Users should refer to the document prepared by NSW Office of Water "A SHORT GUIDE TO NSW OFFICE OF WATERS LICENSING DATA" located in the source datasets

6.    Water management zone information was added from the shapefiles provided by NSW Office of Water (surface water and groundwater)

7.    These data sets are polygon data representing water management areas. The data was captured into the point data table using a spatial join. Columns were added onto the point data table, with information from the water management polygon it was within.

8.    During this process no data was deleted or modified. Some columns are empty because there is no data for the Gloucester (as this is a trial run for other areas it was thought best to leave them in).
