This dataset is a Land Systems map of the Barkly area in the Southern Gulf and Desert Channels of Queensland and the Northern Territory. The mapping includes the area popularly known as the Barkly Tableland, a contiguous portion of the Georgina River basin and the inland desert, and the country extending to the Gulf of Carpentaria and was last updated in 2013. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 1,000,000 and 39 Land Systems were identified. It was undertaken by CSIRO and forms part of report number 3 in the Land Research Series. This survey was conducted by the CSIRO. Northern Australia Regional Survey.
