The former Department of Natural Resources, Environment, the Arts and Sport (NRETAS) has been dispersed into the following agencies: - Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory - Department of Land Resource Management - Department of Arts and Museums - Department of Sport and Recreation. - Parks and Wildlife came from the Output Group: Protected Areas and Conservation - Figures exclude the Territory Wildlife Parks Government Business Division Data was not available for 2011-12 and 2015-16

Data for 2015-16 is point in time only (19 Feb 2016) and will change.

QPWS does not record or report on a category of 'external staff' involved in reserve conservation and management.

To maintain consistency from year to year, Budget Figures are those provided for by the Government as documented in the State Budget (Service Delivery Statements) for the relevant financial year - actual funding and expenditure will vary from this.

The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service underwent Machinery of Government changes in May 2012 and comparative financial data is not available for 2011-12.

Department of Parks and Wildlife (Parks and Wildlife) was created as a new agency, following the separation of the former Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) into two departments. The continuing agency, renamed the Department of Parks and Wildlife (Parks and Wildlife), has had the responsibility of providing bureau services to the Department in the areas of information and communication technology, human resources management, financial management, and recordkeeping. The Parks and Visitor Services, Nature Conservation and Sustainable Forest Management services of DEC became part of DPaW, while the Environmental Regulation and Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change services of DEC became part of DER. Legislative responsibilities and administration have changed following amendments to the Conservation and Land Management Act 2015.
