The Australian Venom Research Unit (AVRU) is an internationally recognised interdisciplinary research unit focused on the problem of venomous injury in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. The AVRU website provides information on: 1. First aid for injury from a venomous animal 2. Clinical information for health professionals such as signs, symptoms and treatment of envenomation 3. General biology of many of Australia's venomous creatures 4. Research activities on venomous creatures, venoms, toxins and the envenomed patient.
