Base Station deployment at Davies Reef as part of the Facility for the Automated Intelligent Monitoring of Marine Systems - FAIMMS

Created 24/06/2017

Updated 11/08/2023

The Davies Reef Base Station performs two functions. The first is to act as a collection point for the sensor network platforms deployed within the reef and to in turn send the data back to the AIMS Data Centre. The second is as a platform for sensors with current sensors including two underwater PAR sensors and a still camera.

The base station is co-located with the AIMS Automatic Weather Station on the Davies Reef Tower in order to optimise the use of power and communications infrastructure.
