Created 25/06/2025

Updated 25/06/2025

This dataset contains the processed Hydrology (HYD) data collected on Courageous cruise 034. The voyage took place in the Australian North West Shelf between Exmouth Gulf and Port Hedland during May 1978. Three hydrology transects were completed across the shelf, opposite Rosemary Island, Legendre Island and Cape Thouin. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the cruise report for this voyage. Courageous on-voyage hydrology data are typically obtained from water samples collected in Nansen bottles at various depths. Parameters measured comprise some or all of the following: temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, phosphate, nitrate, silicate, and nitrite. For further details consult the Divisional Data Centre.
