URL: https://geoscience.data.qld.gov.au/dataset/cr139655 This is the eighth and final report for EPM 25530 Dulhunty East since the tenement was granted by Rio Tinto Exploration (RTX) on 27 May 2015. EPM 25530 Dulhunty East is a 29 sub-block licence located approximately 100km northeast of Weipa and lays adjacent to the Rio Tinto held mining lease ML 7031. During this reporting period from 27 May 2022 to 26 May 2023, no field activities were carried out within the tenement. Following the tenement being granted on 27 May 2015, RTX have completed reconnaissance mapping along transects, rock chip sampling and hand auger drilling to test for the presence of bauxite. This work confirmed the presence of bauxite in isolated areas with most areas revealing an ironstone horizon beneath a thin overburden. Due to internal reprioritisation of projects and the expiration of the land access agreements with the Apudthama Land Trust in 2020, the tenement is being relinquished in full.
