Updated 25/06/2025

Dog Control Act 2000 - Sensitive Areas are areas of land declared by Ministerial Order as sensitive in relation to similarly declared sensitive species, pursuant to s19AB of the Dog Control Act 2000. If a dog attacks wildlife declared to be sensitive within a Sensitive Area a higher penalty may apply. Dogs are not necessarily prohibited from entering these areas unless they intersect with existing Council Prohibited or Restricted areas.
