The Exmouth District Trip Logbook assists Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) staff with the collection of data to ensure the efficient and effective use of management resources in accordance with management plans and policies for the area. This log accommodates the recording of vehicle, vessel and aircraft transport modes, including accompanying Commercial Tour Operators (CTOs). It enables data to be collected on indicators such as vehicles, camping, boating, recreational activities and management and records information in log sheets in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The Ningaloo Coast and Exmouth Gulf have been divided into geographic sectors. Sector boundaries, based on identifiable landmarks, or administrative boundaries, extend from the shoreline to the extent of Commonwealth waters along pre-determined bearings. Within each sector, key sites have been designated as monitoring points with each location code assigned specific monitoring protocols.
