The data file (Mouse Ecology data.csv) contains data of house mouse (Mus musculus) trapping in both South Australia and NSW from 2019 – 2024 as part of the Grains Research & Development Corporation funded investment CSP1806-015RTX: Understanding mouse biology and ecology in zero- and no-till cropping systems to inform best practise crop protection and mouse management practices. All field trials were undertaken with the approval of the CSIRO Wildlife, Large and Laboratory Animal AEC approval number 2019-18.
The file contains data from various field trials conducted in paddocks with different farm management practices and in association with farmer-led baiting operations. Each record corresponds to an individual capture, where animals are marked with a unique Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tag (MiniHPT10, 10.3 mm × 1.4 mm, <1 g) at first capture. Recorded data includes PIT tag ID, sex, reproductive status, body weight, body length, trap location, and capture class (first capture or recapture). Animals are released at the point of capture. Each row is a unique capture record.
