Created 21/09/2025

Updated 21/09/2025

The project mapped irrigated and rainfed cropping, horticulture and plantation forestry for the years 1999 and 2023. This was done to be able to determine the change in agricultural land use between 1999 and 2023. The study area is basically all areas north of the Tropic of Capricorn (ToC) and west of the great divide. However, the whole of the Gascoyne, Western Australia has been included and the whole of the Northern Territory (NT) including areas south of the ToC. Off-shore Islands are not included except for the Tiwi Islands (NT). The project has produced two ESRI shapefile files that can be used in a geographic information system (GIS).
