Franklin Voyage FR 09/97 CTD Data (Tow YO Data)

Created 25/06/2025

Updated 25/06/2025

This dataset contains the processed Conductivity-Temperature-Depth (CTD) data collected on Franklin voyage FR 09/97 (PACMANUS IV). The voyage took place in the Bismarck and Solomon Seas during 10 October - 3 November 1997. This "tow-yo" dataset differs from standard (fixed station) CTD data in that the data are collected from a constantly varying range of depths as the system is towed by the research vessel moving at a specified speed. This dataset has been processed and is archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Uncalibrated transmissometer data was collected on all stations and has been included in the archive. Dissolved oxygen data was also collected, but has been excluded from the archive as no calibration samples were taken. Additional information regarding this dataset is contained in the cruise report for this voyage and/or the data processing report.
