Genetics of pearl oyster Pincdata maxima populations in Western Australia.

Created 24/06/2025

Updated 24/06/2025

With the support of industry and an external organisation, 560 adult pearl oysters were collected from Exmouth Gulf, Eighty Mile Beach, Port Hedland, Lacepedes and Darwin. Molecular (microsatellite)techniques were used to calculate the amount of genetic exchange among populations, and therefore the amount of dispersal among populations.
