Geographe Bay Biodiversity Surveys - Methods Comparison

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

This project brings together a suite of data from various sources and sampling methods with the aim of comparing methods for monitoring biodiversity in Geographe Commonwealth Marine Reserve. Four methods were compared for collecting habitat data, including Stereo-BRUVS, AUV, Forward Facing Towed Video and Downward Facing Towed Video. These data were collected by various parties; the Stereo-BRUVS and AUV sampling was undertaken by the Marine Biodiversity Hub, a collaborative partnership supported through funding from the Australian Government’s National Environmental Research Program (NERP). Forward Facing Towed Video were collected by Ronen Galaiduk at Curtin University and the Downwards Facing Towed Video were collected by the Marine Ecology Group at the Univeristy of Western Australia. This project is funded by Parks Australia project number: DNP-MPA-1920-041.
