Groundwater recharge zones are the areas where water can enter the various aquifers that make up the GAB. The spatial extents of the recharge zones shown are defined by a combination of the outcrop extents, of the various aquifer units, and interpolation between outcrops in cases where the units are covered by a thin veneer of alluvial deposits. This dataset and associated metadata can be obtained from www.ga.gov.au, using catalogue number 81687.
