Lady Elliot Island Wind, Swell and Sea State Database

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

The energy field prevalent at One Tree Reef is wind generated and dominated by east and south-east vectors. More recently a 49 year data base has become available from a weather station at Lady Elliot Island to the south east of One Tree Reef. This defines an excellent statement of conditions at One Tree, although the winds may be marginally stronger at One Tree due to the slightly longer fetch. The data base defines wind strength and direction, sea state and swell four times a day.
