This dataset is a Land Resource Area map of the Stanthorpe-Rosenthal region in Southern Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Goondiwindi and Warwick 1: 250,000 scale map sheets (SH56-1, SH56-2) and was completed in 1997. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 250,000 and 21 Land Resource Areas were identified with 19 associated Soil Profile Classes. A land management manual accompanies this data and is a collection of currently available land resource data, combined with local knowledge and experience, primarily concerning soils and their management. The manual discusses the attributes and limitations of the land types and soils used for primary production for some 462 000 hectares in the shires of Stanthorpe and that part of Warwick previously called Rosenthal Shire.
