Metadata associated with ethanol-preserved coral samples collected for the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program’s Genetic Basis of Coral Traits project

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

Coral collections on the Great Barrier Reef (GBR) commenced in 2021 under the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program’s Genetic Basis of Coral Traits project. These samples will be used for DNA sequencing to identify genetic markers associated with heat tolerance traits and evaluate the distribution of adaptive genetic variation across the GBR. This metadata provides information for each unique sample record, including field species identification, collection date, depth, GPS coordinates, and associated heat-stress experiments or bleaching phenotypes. This collection covers samples collected to 05-Sep-2023. An embargo restriction is applied to these data.
