National Base Land Parcels (May 2025)

Created 16/10/2025

Updated 16/10/2025

National Base Land Parcels (Land Parcels) are a spatial representation of land parcels defined and maintained by the state and territory governments of Australia. It combines the complex representations unique to each jurisdiction into a consistent, seamless view of Australia's land parcels.

Australian land parcels represent the smallest legal area of land that can be sold without needing approval to subdivide. These parcels can be referenced by a land title through the relevant state or territory land registry, which offers links to jurisdictional information such as: - certificate of title or Crown lease   - valuation information  - land descriptions.

The National Base Land Parcels dataset is available to Commonwealth Government users of the Digital Atlas of Australia. Contact DigitalAtlas@ga.gov.au for access.
