Nutritional and microbial responses of Pocillopora verrucosa to co-culture with Chromis viridis

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

This study examined the underlying nutritional and microbial responses of Pocillopora verrucosa to both co-culture with juvenile Chormis viridis damselfish and supply of live feeds (Artermia, rotifers and mixed microalgae). It also compared the status of the captive corals in the fish/live feeds treatments with status of the same colonies in the field, and after fragmentatation and an acclimation period to the captive environment.
This study was undertaken as part of Rachel Neil's PhD thesis; the related manuscript has not yet been published, but the relevent link will be added here when it is.
