Population Subdivision in the Australian Sea Lion based in mtDNA Variation

Created 23/06/2025

Updated 23/06/2025

Tissue samples were collected from newly born pups from 15 individual colonies between 1989 and 2000, to determine the genetic structure of populations of N. cinerea, with a view to understand the degree of connectedness of different colonies, the role of reproductive strategies in regulating female mediated gene flow and the consequences of historical population exploitation.
