An Interocean S4 vector averaging current meter was deployed on a mooring at Station BG04. This was one of four current meters placed along the line joining Cape Cleveland and Cape Bowling Green to investigate the relationship between winds and boundary currents. This current meter was one of two current meters placed at either end of the bay to measure longshore flow through the end boundaries.Deployment Details:Instrument: S4 #631Instrument depth: 15mSampling interval: 30 minutesDate deployed: 20/10/1984Date recovered: 18/03/1985 This study was initiated to:1. gain an understanding of the circulation of water in Bowling Green Bay2. complement concurrent studies by AIMS scientists researching the ecology, nutrient regime and trophodynamics of the coastal boundary of the Great Barrier Reef lagoon.
