Statistical data is available on the subclasses 457 and 482 and provides information on all visa grants and the number of visa holders in Australia.

For visa holders, the dimensions include the snapshot dates, the gender and citizenship country of the visa holder, the nominated occupation and nominated position location of the primary visa holder and the industry of the employer that is sponsoring the primary visa holder.

For visa grants, the dimensions include the financial year and quarter of visa grant, the gender, age and citizenship country of the visa holder, the nominated occupation of the primary visa holder and the industry of the employer that is sponsoring the primary visa holder.

These de-identified statistics are periodically checked for privacy and other compliance requirements. The statistics were temporarily removed in March 2024 in response to a question about privacy within the emerging technological environment. Following a thorough review and risk assessment, the Department of Home Affairs has republished the dataset.
