Abstract

This dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The parent dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This dataset provides a 50m buffer of all streams contained within the Riparian Enhance Vegetation Index (EVI) interpretation of major streams in the Great Artesian Basin dataset (GUID: 156d3951-e4f3-4d34-89eb-23158604afbe).

From source dataset: This dataset shows river reaches with riparian vegetation potentially intersecting shallow groundwater in the Great Artesian Basin (excluding the coastal areas and Cape York Peninsula).

No effort has been made to distinguish regulated (streams fed from upstream storage) and unregulated rivers and areas of irrigation. This dataset should not be considered where the river is a regulated system or used for irrigation.

Dataset History

A 50m buffer was produced around each stream feature within the source dataset (Riparian Enhance Vegetation Index (EVI) interpretation of major streams in the Great Artesian Basin - GUID: 156d3951-e4f3-4d34-89eb-23158604afbe).

A copy of this data was then reprojected to the GDA_1994_Australia_Albers (WKID: 3577 Authority: EPSG) coordinate system.
