This dataset is sourced from the National Offshore Petroleum Titles Administrator (NOPTA) and is up to date as of February 2026.

NOPTA regulate and administer offshore petroleum titles in Commonwealth waters, which is typically beyond the outer limits of coastal waters (3 nautical miles); and within the outer limits of the continental shelf.

This dataset contains Petroleum Titles and Permits granted in accordance with the Offshore Petroleum Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006. Title boundaries are based on 5 minute graticular blocks determined by the Australian Geodetic Datum.
