This dataset demonstrates the outcome of birth notifications which have been received for the reporting year.  Birth notifications are based upon the notification of the birth (including stillborns) from the health professionals and hospitals to the municipality where the mother resides.  This is required within 48 hours of birth.  Maternal and Child Health Services birth data are based on the date of the birth of the child.
