Progressive changes in coral reef communities with increasing ocean acidification

Created 17/11/2025

Updated 17/11/2025

Data from the Upa Upasina CO2 seep benthic gradients manuscript. Here we established 37 monitoring sites along a gradient of increasing CO2, from ambient areas adjacent to the seep into areas of dense seeping activity. Carbon chemistry was charcterised at each station and a series of surveys were conducted to characterise the benthos. We conducted point intercept photosurveys of reef communities and collected algal samples for biomass estimates.
