This report presents a comprehensive Probabilistic Tsunami Hazard Assessment (PTHA) developed by Geoscience Australia in partnership with Queensland Fire Department for the Gladstone region, from Agnes Waters to Yeppoon. It characterises tsunami hazards posed to the area by earthquakes from major subduction zones around the Pacific Ocean. The report details the modelling approach along with its validation against three historic tsunami events, the probabilistic sampling of earthquake scenarios and their occurrence rates before showcasing inundation and marine hazard results. The results include conservative estimates for possible inundation zones corresponding to current Joint Australian Tsunami Warning Centre warning categories. These inundation zones provide a basis for emergency services to develop targeted evacuation and emergency management in the Gladstone region.
