Shaping Our Future is Geoscience Australia’s decadal strategy. It builds on our long-standing role as Australia’s trusted stewards of applied geoscience delivering the national-scale data, services and infrastructure that government, industry and communities rely on. Grounded in long-term Australian government, science and research priorities, this strategy charts how our applied geoscience will help Australia navigate complex national challenges and create benefits for generations to come. The strategy strengthens our enduring national leadership across 5 focus areas, supporting the delivery of major government initiatives including Resourcing Australia’s Prosperity, Landsat Next, SouthPAN and the Digital Atlas of Australia. The strategy's success will rely on key enablers such as a highly skilled workforce, strong science integrity, future‑ready digital and data systems, and effective governance, along with strategic shifts in operational ways of working.
