This dataset is a Soil Profile Class and land suitability survey of the Burdekin River southern area in North Queensland. The mapping covers parts of the Ayr, Mingela and Strathalbyn 1: 100,000 map sheets (8358, 8258, 8357) and was completed in 1985. The mapping is at a scale of 1: 100,000 and 126 Soil Profile Classes were identified. The Lower Burdekin Valley has been divided into three major areas: - Right Bank (Burdekin River to Elliot River) - Left Bank (Burdekin River to Haughton River) - Soils of the Lower Burdekin River Barratta Creek - Haughton River Area (BRL) - Southern Area - Survey of the Soils of the Lower Burdekin Valley, North Queensland (BSA).
