Summary of results. Joint NTGS-GA geochronology project : Tanami Region, Arunta Region, Pine Creek Orogen and Halls Creek Orogen correlatives, January 2005-March 2007

This record presents new SHRIMP U‑Pb zircon and monazite geochronology results for the Tanami Region, Arunta Region, Pine Creek Orogen and Halls Creek Orogen that were obtained through the Northern Territory Geological Survey-Geoscience Australia (NTGS-GA) geochronology project, in the period January 2005–March 2007. The samples were collected as part of geoscientific studies of these regions by NTGS and GA. Previous geochronological results from these regions as part of the NTGS-GA geochronology project were published by Smith (2001), Cross et al (2003, 2004, 2005) and Worden et al (2004, 2006a, 2006b). Recent publications on the geological setting of the Tanami and Arunta regions include Close et al (2006, 2007), and Scrimgeour (2006). Recent publications on the geological setting of the Pine Creek Orogen include Worden (2006) and Carson et al (2006). There is a separate report for each sample, which contains a geochronological interpretation as well as information on sample location and geological context. A summary of all results from this study is presented in Table 1 while the sample locations are depicted in Figures 1–2. Analytical results (Tables 3–62) are in Appendix 1.
